Wasting your break hour waiting in line at a fast food restaurant doesn’t seem like a clever thing to do. Same goes for waiting for a table to clear at a restaurant. But while you don’t wish to be bothered with lining up and waiting during your break time, you still have to eat. So why not just call for food delivery?

Calling for food delivery is like calling your food to come to you. What is great about food delivery is that it is both quick and handy. It is also less expensive to have your food delivered than going out to have it.

While it is correct that food delivery services call for an extra fee and a minimal order, it is still cheaper than leaving your place for your food. How so? Because if you think about it, the added charge you will pay for food delivery is cheaper than the amount you will pay for petrol or for the bus fare just to go to that restaurant.

Unless it’s an extremely bad weather, you can have warm soup served to you without the hassle of fighting the elements. If you are not feeling really well enough to drive through the drizzle or it’s just merely too hot for you to go outside, then there’s no need to. Let eateries deliver their food to you. That’s what makes it different from having a take-out meal or going through a drive-thru, you don’t have to go out. Let them worry about the traffic while you sit prettily at your place.

Just keep in mind, though, that they can refuse to render service if the weather is really bad or if there are events of unforeseen circumstances.

Food establishments that have food delivery functions also have good food packaging. They know that they won’t have customers coming back if they deliver their soup cold, desserts soggy, or burgers dripping for the first time. They should know how to keep food presentable as though it came directly from the kitchen.

Why do you need food delivery when you can go outside and get your own food at your favorite restaurant? Why not? The total idea of the thing is it’s convenient and, if you think about it truly, less expensive than going out.

A lot of us have encountered the word "halal" on food tags and restaurant establishments, but not all of us know what it actually means. Our Muslim pals base their selection on this word because it signifies what is permissible for them to buy or eat. For a country that has inhabitants with mixed religious groups, that word is just as critical.

Many of us have seen the term “halal,” but not many of us know what it means. Halal can be seen on food marks and restaurants. The term is significant for our Muslim pals as it shows what is permitted for them to consume by their Islamic dietary law. In a nation with citizens of different religions, the term halal is very important.

For Muslim-populated countries, seeing halal on food items and eateries is no trouble at all since they are run by Muslims who follow Islamic rules. But for states that have citizens practicing various religions, then halal is not that easy to come by. Luckily, more and more establishments are becoming conscious of their consumers’ preferences.

Halal means lawful or legal. If a food tag has this word on or a eatery alleges they are halal-certified, it means that the preparation of their food is in accordance with the Islamic dietary law, and thus, they are allowed to consume the items.

So what is allowed in Islamic law? There are a number of guidelines, but let’s start with how a meat should be prepared. An animal should be butchered by cutting its windpipe and gullet quickly. This method of ritual slaughter is believed to kill instantaneously and painlessly.

And because there are halal or permitted items, there are also haraam or forbidden products. To start with, Muslims are forbidden to feed on pork and consume intoxicants. So a product or an eatery must not add those ingredients to their menu. There should also be no contamination of the items, meaning, if a utensil has been used to cut a pork meal, it should not be utilized anymore to prepare a halal-approved item.

Haraam items also comprise of blood, birds of prey or carnivores, animals killed in the name of anyone but Allah, corpse of an animal, or those that have been consecrated to another god.

Halal-certified establishments should conform to the Islamic dietary laws. And because some food are difficult to determine whether they are halal or not, there are Muslim groups who certify food items as halal for consumers. Those products with halal authentication are used as ingredients by halal restaurants, just to make very sure that they are rigorously observing the laws.

It’s good to know that there are eateries not run by Muslims that still make a great effort to adhere to Islamic dietary laws. It only means that they value all their clients and honor their orientations and religious beliefs.

Planning to throw a party? Choose halal foods from our delectable catering packages. Looking for Singapore’s superb dessert? Call us today!

by Lilly Fiser

Wine glasses are very essential in the wine tasting experience. In order to properly taste the wine, you must have the correct wine glass. Wine glasses were designed the way they are shaped on purpose.

A red wine glass consists of the base, stem, and a large round bowl with a wide mouth. The shape of the bowl is used to enhance the wine bouquet, thus enhancing the flavor. The wide mouth allows you to sip the red wine so you can taste it at the front of your mouth where it is meant to be tasted.

The surface area of the bowl of the red wine glass helps to oxygenate and allows for a greater surface area to evaporate the wine. The character of red wine is strong and bold and the bowl allows for this taste to come through. Another function of the large bowl is to be used to hold the glass, keeping the wine at the desired room temperature.

A white wine glass consists of the same components as a red wine glass: the base, stem and bowl. The bowl of a white wine glass is tall and narrow, allowing for the much more delicate wine to have a focused bouquet. The tall stem of the white wine glass allows for the wine to stay at the cooler temperatures that white wine should be served at.

The white wine glass has a smaller mouth than a red wine glass which makes you tilt your head back in order to drink it. White wine is meant to be tasted towards the back of your palette. The part of the palette where you taste the wine is important to the wine tasting experience.

Champagne, yet another type of wine, also boasts its very own glass design. The perfect champagne glass is called a flute. Flute glasses are very tall and narrow which maintains the effervescence and bubbles for much longer than any other shape of glass.

Wine glasses are very important on more than one level and are not just for holding your wine but for perfecting the taste of the wine as well. Wine should always be paired with its perfect wine glass in order to experience wine tasting to the fullest. Something else you can do with wine is to pair it with the perfect food.

White wine will pair perfectly with almost any type of seafood. Red wine goes great with red meat and surprisingly with chocolate. Feel free to play with food and wine combinations, but always remember to use the correct wine glasses!

Management in general is a multifaceted approach. You must be able to oversee all elements of the business and have a general ability to do every task beneath you. Ideally, you should have some experience in actually doing each one of the jobs over which you have responsibility, but if not you must be able to step in at a moment’s notice. In the food industry, a managerial role is even more complicated and restaurant management resources are well researched.

If you have overall responsibility as an owner or senior manager in a food and beverage related position, the number of areas that you’re responsible for is greater than average. Whether you have to deal with marketing, projects, logistical issues, staffing, accounts and financing or a host of other required tasks, you should always make sure that you have restaurant management resources available to help you prioritize and put everything in perspective.

In restaurant management, the difference between making a profit and operating at a loss is razor thin. Product is one of your most challenging areas and you need to be sure that you pay particular attention to supply and delivery management and also to portion control. Junior employees will not have the same perspective as you as it is not their responsibility to balance all those factors. As such, you need to come up with a clear policy guidelines and set it out for them.

A busy restaurant will set its own challenges with regard to the handling of food and drink, but a whole host of other products and supplies are essential to the smooth running of the operation. If only one small item is out of place, it can have a significant effect. Ensure that restaurant management resources cover adequate inventory control and the staff understand how important it is to be frugal with product usage and that you should neither be overstocked nor under stock.

Time management is crucial for managers at all levels and if you’re in charge of an eatery, this is especially so. One of your biggest challenges will be coping with problems that come up on a regular basis and there will be many of them. You will have to be skilled at putting out fires and somehow building this time into your already busy schedule appropriately.

Remember, that even though you will be pulled in all directions as the owner and manager of a restaurant, you must still be efficient. Whatever programs and projects you have opened, must be completed and one of the biggest skills you learn will be the art of delegation. Never be a micromanage, but always be willing to allocate tasks accordingly.

Reputations can rise and fall on the quality and suitability of the staff that you have employed in your restaurant. As an owner or manager you must pay particular attention to your hiring phase and never shortcut this process. Remember that each one of your staff will have a crucial role to play from time to time and you will need to rely on each one of them to do the right thing.

Don’t be afraid to turn to outside help, especially when you are starting out. Restaurant management resources can help you to focus on priorities and the ins and outs of management from those who have seen it all.
